Simple is introducing new social and gamification features to help you stay motivated by seeing your activity in a broader context—and connecting with others on a similar journey. These features are designed to add encouragement and accountability, while keeping you fully in control of your privacy.
What’s New?
Until now, Simple focused entirely on individual progress. There was no built-in way to:
See your activity compared with others
Invite or follow friends inside the app
Receive lightweight social feedback that reinforces healthy habits
With the Team tab, you can explore social motivation—while staying fully in control of your privacy.
The Team tab is currently available on both iOS and Android, although some features may still be limited to selected users or experiments. If you don’t see the Teams tab in your app, please reach out to our Support team for assistance.
The Team Tab
The Team tab appears between the Track and Explore tabs.
From the Team tab, you can view your Social Profile, Feed and My Team options.
Your Profile: Your profile shows your activity and social information, depending on your privacy settings. From your profile, you can:
View your entire social profile
See your weekly step totals
View follower and following counts
Track your streaks
Add and follow friends
View your weekly steps progress in a graph
Share your profile
Edit your profile
When you tap Edit Profile, you can:
View your username (used within the app)
View or edit your nickname
Toggle your profile public or private
Change your profile picture
2. Feed: The Feed allows you to share updates and interact with the community. You can view posts, like and comment on posts, open thread views and even follow users directly from the feed.
You can also see the option to Add friends

Creating Posts: You can create posts with text, images and topics/captions.
Posts may include progress update, wellness milestones, photos and personal reflections. You can upload up to 10 images per post. Posts may also go through moderation before becoming publicly visible.
Auto-Generated Milestone Posts: Some achievements may automatically appear in the feed, including:
Step milestones (such as 10K steps)
Streak achievements
Activity progress updates
You can also comment on and interact with these updates.
Food Sharing: Some users may have access to Food Sharing. When enabled, you can choose to share logged meals to your public profile and follower feed. Food sharing is optional and can be turned on or off while logging meals.
3. Team:
This adds a friendly, motivational way to see how others in your team are moving. Here, you can view users in your team and see how many steps they completed in the last week.
You can also view users you are not following. When you tap on another user, you can see their:
Name and Nickname
Join date
Weekly steps
Following and follower count
Streaks
A comparison graph showing daily walking distance (your steps vs. theirs)
From another user’s profile, you can:
Public vs. Private Accounts
You decide how much information you want to share.
Public Accounts
Public accounts enable participation in Teams and social features. The following information is visible to other users:
Username and profile photo
Posts and shared activity
Streaks and walking progress
Followers and following counts
2. Private Accounts
Private accounts function the same way Simple always has:
No social or activity information is shared publicly
You can continue using the app without participating in Teams
You can switch between public and private profiles at any time. Just navigate to
Team → Profile → Edit → Is Public. Turning Is Public off makes your account private immediately.
Managing Social Notifications
If you’d like to turn off notifications related to the Team tab or social features, you can manage these settings directly in the app, from the profile page or the Team tab.
Social notification settings are currently available on iOS only. Android support is coming soon.
From the Profile Page:
Tap the Profile icon in the top-right corner (this may appear on the Home, Track, or My Plan tab depending on your app version)
Scroll down and tap Notifications
Select Social and then you can manage your notification
In the Social section in the team tab, you can also manage your social notification:
Click on the three dots at the top right corner and you'll see the Push notification settings.

You can then choose to
Turn off Social Notifications to disable all social-related alerts
Turn off New Followers notifications
Disable Show red dot on Team tab
These settings allow you to control how and when you receive updates from Teams and social features.
Teams is designed to add optional motivation, not pressure. Whether you prefer to stay private or enjoy friendly comparison, Simple lets you choose how you engage.
You’re always free to focus on your own journey—or draw motivation from others, on your terms.
