Simple Apple Watch App

The Watch app is an iPhone app designed for managing and customizing the settings of an Apple Watch. It acts as the central hub for pairing, configuring, and syncing the Apple Watch with an iPhone, allowing users to personalize their experience and access key Apple Watch features.

In this article, we’ll walk you through syncing your Apple Watch app with the Simple app, enabling you to use its unique complications and features seamlessly. By following these steps, you can make the most of the Simple app’s integration with your Apple Watch.

Setting Up the Simple Apple Watch Face

Follow these step-by-step instructions to set up the Simple Apple Watch face and enable complications:

Step 1: Open the Link on Your Phone

To begin, you will need to open the link on your phone. This link is specifically designed for mobile devices and will not work on a desktop computer. The link is: fstr://path/tab/apple_watch_promo.

Simply tap on the link and it will open in your phone's browser.

Step 2: Tap "Connect"

Once the link has opened on your phone, you will see a button that says "Connect." Tap on this button to initiate the connection process.

Step 3: Add to Watch Faces

When you tap on “Connect Simple to Watch,” the action redirects you to the Watch app on your iPhone. On this page, you will see a button that says "Add to Watch faces." Tap on this button. This will automatically configure the Simple app’s face on your Apple Watch.

And that's it! Your Simple Apple Watch face is now set up and ready to use with the available complications.

Apple Watch Face and Complications: What Are They?

The Simple Watch Face is a customizable design for the main screen of your smartwatch. It not only displays the time but also includes additional features called complications. This flexible template allows you personalize what information is displayed, making it both functional and user-friendly.

Complications on the other hand are small widgets that display essential information or provide quick access to app features directly from your Apple Watch face. They enhance your user experience by keeping key data visible at a glance without needing to open the app.

Complications Offered by Simple App

The Simple app currently provides the following complications for your Apple Watch:

  • Activity (Apple) rings: This is a default complication provided by Apple. It will show activity even if you didn’t gave access for Health data to Simple (since it’s a complication of Activity app, not Simple).

  • Time and date: This complication displays just time and date in your default location and format.

  • Tips: Tips are time-dependent. They are being changed every hour (except night time). In the morning, your tips will be morning-related, during the day they may focus on food or activity advices and near the late evening they will be focused on bedtime routine.

  • Water tracking: The circle around this complication fills as you move towards your daily hydration goal. Once it's reached, 100%, your daily has been achieved. Tapping on this complication opens the Watch app with Water tracking screen shown.

  • Food tracking: This appears as an image of fork and knife. Tapping on it opens Watch app with Food tracking screen shown.

  • Fast tracking: This complication appears as a static image of clock on the screen. Tapping on it opens Watch app with Fasting screen shown

Watch App Features and Usage

  1. Water Tracking: You're able to track your hydration goals with ease. Here you'll see the Recent (optional) and Volumes tab.

From the Recent tab, you can choose from 4 most recent volumes you logged. If you've not previously logged any, this tab would be empty.

From the Volumes tab on the other hand, you're able to directly choose the volume of liquid you want to log.

After selecting the volume, you'll be navigated to the Water logged screen.

2. Food Tracking: You're able to stay on top of your nutritional intake by logging your meals directly on your watch app.

On the top there is a Without details button and if you tap on this button, you'll log a new meal with no text.

If you tap on the microphone icon, you can log your food using Voice recognition or can choose to log with text.

Additionally, if you have logged some meals as text previously, you'll see all the texts (sorted by recent) so that you can easily track from history

After logging with/without details, you'll be navigated to the Meal logged screen.

3. Fast Tracking: This initially shows the state of fasting: whether it’s active (with the Finish fasting button) or how long to wait until fasting starts (with Start fasting button)

If you've logged a meal in the past hour either on your phone or directly on the watch, we mark it as start fasting and you can start fasting from your last logged meal. If you've not logged any meal in the past hour, you'll have the option to choose whether to use some of your previous tracked meals or to create a new one.

If you choose old meal, it'll show the Fasting started screen as seen below:

If you choose New meal, it'll navigate to Food tracking screen, where you can log your meal before starting the fast.

On the other hand, to end your fast, you can click on the Finish Fasting button on the Fast tracking screen.

Please note that the Fast tracking complication allows you to start fasting but doesn’t display progress at this time.
