What are Gems?
Gems are an in-app currency that rewards you for staying active and engaging with the app. You can earn points by converting your daily steps and completing certain in-app activities. Your points can then be redeemed for rewards in the Simple Shop.
The feature is designed to make your progress feel more visible, interactive, and motivating over time.
The Gems rewards feature is currently only available on the iOS version of the app.
How the Gems feature works
1. Step tracking: Your daily steps are automatically synced from Apple Health to the Simple app. If synced steps are available, they can be converted into Gems directly from the Home tab.
2. Convert steps into Gems: When you have synced steps that haven’t yet been converted, you’ll see a “Convert my steps” banner at the top of your Home tab.
To convert your steps:
Tap the banner
Your available steps will instantly convert into Gems
Your Gems balance will update automatically in the Home tab header
The banner will refresh to show how many steps were converted and your new Gem total.
How can I view my Gems?
To check how many Gems you’ve earned:
Open the Home tab in the app
Tap the lightning icon in the top-right corner
This opens the Shop, where you can:
View your Gems balance
Browse available rewards
Redeem items using your Gems
How to redeem rewards
To redeem a reward:
Open the Shop
Browse the available rewards and their Gems prices
Tap a reward to redeem it
After redemption:
Your Gems balance updates automatically
The reward status changes (for example, “Activated” or “Downloaded”)
Please note that once Gems are spent on a reward, the redemption cannot be reversed.
What’s available in the Shop?
The Shop offers various rewards such as:
Downloadable content: Examples include recipe collections, dessert guides, mindful eating guides, fitness and workout plans, etc. After redeeming downloadable content, a download button will appear so you can access it directly.
App icons: You can customize the appearance of the Simple app with upgraded app icons.
Coach Avo personalities: You can unlock special Coach Avo personalities, such as Avo Max and Avo Nova. These only need to be unlocked once.
Blinky Vacation: You can temporarily disable Blinky until you decide to bring it back. If you reactivate Blinky later, you won’t need to spend Gems again.
You can tap any reward in the Shop to view more details of the reward and what's included and decide whether you’d like to spend your Gems. New rewards and Shop items may be added over time, so check back regularly to see what’s new.
