🌟 Understanding the Success Score

Updated over 2 weeks ago

What is the Success Score?

The Success Score is a real-time, visual feedback tool that helps you understand how your daily health actions are supporting your weight loss journey. Think of it as your motivational compass, rewarding healthy habits and gently nudging you when adjustments may be helpful.

Unlike the traditional calorie counters or weight-only trackers, the Success Score focuses on your daily behaviors that drive sustainable weight loss. It's not a judgment tool, it's a guide to help you stay on track.

Each day, your score is influenced by your healthy behaviors across five key areas:

  1. Food quality

  2. Water intake

  3. Physical activity

  4. Fasting routines

  5. Weigh-ins

The score resets daily; unless you're currently fasting, in which case the score can carry over.

Score Zones & What They Mean

You’ll see a color-coded dial on your home screen. There are 6 zones in the Success Score. Each zone is explained if you tap on the Success Score visual or the Info icon on your home screen

This is your current Success Score zone:

  • 🔴 Red – Weight Gain

  • 🟠 Orange – Stalled/Unlikely Weight Loss

  • 🟢 Green – Steady/Likely Weight Loss

  • 🔵🟢 Blue-Green – Sustainable Weight Loss

  • Grey – Neutral (No activity logged for the day or a first-time user)

How It Works

  • Starting Each Day

At the beginning of each new day, the Success Score shows a default grey screen, as long as you’re not in fasting. Scores do not carry over from one day to the next unless your fast is still in progress.

Quick Log buttons appear on this screen as shortcuts to track:

  • 🍽️ Food

  • 💧 Water

  • 🏃 Activity

  • ⏱️ Start / End fast

If you’re a new user, you’ll see an unboxing video introducing the Success Score. This video cannot be skipped and must be watched to access your home screen. If you’re an existing user, simply update your app and you’ll see the unboxing video when the Success Score feature is introduced.

  • Daily Check-In with Coach Avo

You'll be prompted to complete your check-in process with Avo each day. This helps personalize your experience and guide you through your progress.

  • Updating the Score

Once you start logging food, water, activity, fasting, or syncing activity from your device, the Success Score updates in real time. The Quick Log buttons on the home screen will now animate and fill up as you track.

A new Success Score banner will appear with two options:

  • Chat more → Opens a Success Score chat with Avo.

  • Got it → Dismisses the banner.

  • Tracks and Summary Screens

Every log (food, water, activity, fasting, weight, etc.) now has a summary screen with an updated Success Score animation and your score changes based on what you log. Each log is paired with smart feedback from Avo, rewarding progress and suggesting improvements.

Example:

  • Logged meal

  • Logged hydration

  • Logged activity:

  • Chatting with Avo About Your Score

You can discuss your current Success Score directly with Avo and it'll explain your score, give tips, and highlight progress made.

What Affects Your Success Score

Your Success Score reflects how consistently you make healthy choices throughout the day; and it adjusts in real time based on your actions.

Here’s how it works:

  • Eating a high-protein, high-fibre meal gives your score a healthy boost.

  • Logging fast food or low-nutrient meals may lower it.

  • Starting a fast provides a positive increase.

  • Drinking water adds small boosts (depending on the volume).

  • Physical activity like walking, running, e.t.c gives strong upward boosts.

  • Weighing in, especially when you’ve made progress, also helps.

Your score will gradually decline over time if no new healthy actions are logged.
Even a great start can fade without follow-through.

For example: You log a nutritious breakfast and start in the green zone, but if you don’t log meals, activity, or hydration later, your score can drop to orange.

This gradual decline reflects how your body naturally uses energy throughout the day; staying consistent helps maintain your score and supports steady progress toward your goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the Success Score?

A daily motivational feedback tool that tracks your behaviors to help you stay on track with weight loss. It’s not your weight or calorie count; just your healthy habits, measured daily.

2. Why did my score drop?
Common reasons for your score decline include:

  • No recent activity or logs

  • Low-quality meal

  • Natural score decline over time

3. How can I increase my score?
You can try:

  • Logging high-protein, high-fiber meals

  • Drinking water

  • Doing light movement

  • Starting or ending a fast

4. Why is my score not showing?
You haven’t logged any actions today or your day has just reset.

5. Can I view past scores?
Not yet; the score only reflects today’s actions.

6. Is the score connected to my weight?
Indirectly. It’s based on behaviors, not your weight number or calorie count.

7. I fasted but why didn’t my score improve?
Fasting boosts your base score, but other logs (like movement and hydration) help maintain or increase it.

8. My score didn’t change even after logging, why?
It could be balancing out. It’s not a grade, it’s a day-long reflection of all actions combined. If you fast a long time, drink plenty of water but have low quality meals, it still may be in the orange zone at the end of the day.

9. Is there a “perfect” score/number I should aim for?
There's no exact number. Just aim to stay in the green or blue-green zone most days.

10. What does the number mean?
It's your position in the zone:

  • 50–100+: Likely to lose weight today

  • Below 50: Less likely to lose weight, based on what has been logged

💬 A Friendly Reminder

Your Success Score isn’t a judgment; it’s simply a gentle guide to help you stay motivated and build healthy habits, one step at a time. Every small action you log counts, and the goal is progress, not perfection.

Feeling stuck in the orange or red zones? Don’t worry. Tomorrow is a brand-new day, and your score resets, giving you a fresh opportunity to take positive steps.

👉 Just log one thing today – it all counts. You’ve got this.
