☝️ One of the perks of intermittent fasting is that it is simple to follow — just eat within a shorter window of time than you are used to! This tends to be enough for people to lose weight, however for some it might be beneficial to check in with your calorie balance too.

This is because intermittent fasting isn't magic. You still need to be consuming less calories than what your body takes in through food for intermittent fasting to really work for weight loss.

This doesn't mean that you have to use calorie counting. Everyone chooses their own path. 💜 It all comes down to your weight loss progress and even your non-scale victories. Here are 5 scenarios when calorie counting can be a handy addition to your fasting journey.

1. When you are losing weight slower than you would like to

If you are losing weight at a slower rate than expected, it could be helpful to try some calorie counting to double check if you are meeting your calorie goals within the app.

2. You have plateaued

Don't worry, plateaus are a normal part of most weight loss journeys! Weight loss isn't linear, it may just take a bit more time and consistency to get back on track.
